It's a WIN! The Cardrona Cabin Takes Home Small Project Architecture Award

It’s a win! We're honoured to win a Small Project Architecture Award in last nights' NZIA 2020 Southern Architecture Awards.

The Cardrona Cabin embodies our motto: Carefully Crafted Timber - showcasing what can be achieved when we think differently.

No longer can we use slow grown, imported timbers to build homes and structures in these climate conscious times.

Abodo timbers are sourced from rapidly renewable New Zealand plantations that help to mitigate climate change by absorbing vast amounts of carbon.

Here’s what the judges had to say:

“Elegantly conceived and gorgeously crafted, this building showcasing Abodo thermally treated timber products displays care and attention to detail in every aspect of construction and finish. Enviable environmental, structural and thermal performance credentials stand alongside the classic beauty of this project."

"Here, architectural form is reduced to its purest essence – at once aligning with solidly founded tradition and yet the project transcends to appear vigorously progressive, released even from the ground.”
