Get ready, something new is coming...
Old growth ancient forests are ecosystems that are centuries in the making. This constructive conversation will show how your architectural decisions can help protect what's irreplaceable.
Join us for Protecting the Forests We Can’t Replace featuring Ross Reid, ecologist, filmmaker, and the creative force behind Nerdy About Nature, whose insightful perspective on old growth timbers will change the way you view and specify timber.
This talk will be followed by a Q+A with Abodo® Founder and Managing Director, Daniel Gudsell. A natural innovator and longstanding advocate for protecting old growth, ancient forests – for over 20 years Daniel has led the charge in New Growth™ Feature Timbers.

Ross will explore the deep interconnection between humans and natural ecosystems, highlighting that we are not separate from nature, but very much a part of it. With this understanding comes a shared responsibility to care for and protect our environments in ways that support both ecological health and human wellbeing.
Focusing on the power of individual action, particularly within the built environment, emphasising how thoughtful architectural decisions can create meaningful, far-reaching impacts.
Ross Reid manages a social-ecological education project called Nerdy About Nature, which began as a way of documenting and sharing observations and fun facts about the natural world. Blending the perception of a naturalist with philosophy and humor, he aims to make your next venture into the outdoors more enjoyable!
He strongly believes that the more people know and understand about the world around us, the more fun they'll have out enjoying it. That they too can fall in love with it, and we can all work together creating a better world for future generations.
Daniel Gudsell is the founding Director of the New Zealand-based and family-owned company; Abodo Wood.
