If the earthquakes in New Zealand, Japan and the U.S have taught us anything, it is that building design needs to change.
Timber structures are an obvious option, with advances in timber engineering and importantly, timber connectors making commercial timber buildings a reality.
But it does not make sense to clad a timber frame with a heavy cladding, such as brick, stone, rock or fibre cement board. Any rigid, heavy cladding system that is not tied into a building’s structure as the ability to break free.
The logic of cladding flexible wood frames with a lightweight flexible timber cladding is clear.
The thermal modification process degrades sugars and resins from the wood which reduces its weight.
This process increases both stability and durability of the timber and reduces its mass, meaning less weight and thermal conductivity.
Suitable for building to meet TC2 and TC3 requirements.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.
Updates include discontinuing Vulcan Nexus Cladding and Vulcan Decking. Vulcan Cladding 20mm profiles move to 18mm, and a new WB21 Profile is introduced.
Vulcan Cladding WB10 profiles are changing to a finer shiplap designed WB18 with cleaner, sharper lines.
