Built on Feedback: The New 75mm Cladding Screw is Coming

Responding to customer demand for greater fixing depth, builders will get an extra 10mm where they need it most. Replacing the 65mm, the new 75mm Cladding Screw is arriving in September 2026.

From September 2026, Abodo's popular 4.5 x 65mm Cladding Screw will transition to a new 4.5 x 75mm Cladding Screw, giving builders and installers added flexibility while retaining all the features they know and trust.

Developed in response to customer feedback, the additional 10mm length helps accommodate installations over rigid wall underlays and other applications where extra fixing length is beneficial

The change is designed to support today's building methods while maintaining the same straightforward installation process.

Importantly, this is not a redesign. The new 75mm screw features the same proven stainless steel construction, Torx drive head, self-countersinking head, serrated thread, knurled shoulder and Type 17 self-drilling tip that have made the Abodo Cladding Screw a preferred fixing solution for timber cladding projects.

The screw continues to deliver the benefits builders value most:

  • Faster, easier installation thanks to the Type 17 self-drilling tip.
  • Stronger driver engagement with the Torx drive head for reduced cam-out.
  • Cleaner finishes through the self-countersinking head design.
  • Enhanced driving performance from the serrated thread and knurled shoulder.
  • A discreet black head finish that complements timber cladding applications.

Manufactured from 304 stainless steel and supplied in boxes of 100 with a Torx driver bit included, the updated screw offers the same dependable performance with an added margin of flexibility for modern cladding systems.

As existing stock of the 65mm screw runs out, customers will automatically transition to the new 75mm version, with no change to pricing or pack size.

Same trusted screw. Extra length, where it counts.

The 4.5 x 75mm Cladding Screw is a direct replacement for the 65mm version. Customers can expect the same performance, installation experience and trusted design features, with the benefit of additional length.

Has the screw design changed?

No. The screw retains the same key features, including the Torx drive head, black-painted head, self-countersinking head, knurled shoulder, serrated thread and Type 17 self-drilling tip. The only change is the screw length.
