This season of The Block has an eco-focus, meaning this year’s homes will be the most sustainable, energy-efficient Block homes yet.
Each home will receive a Homestar rating at the end of the build (a quality assurance mark certifying the health, efficiency and sustainability of homes).
The Vulcan Cladding supplied for each home’s exterior is not only FSC® certified for sustainability, but is designed to age well and continue to look good well into the future.
Timber cladding is known for requiring regular maintenance, but steps can be taken to reduce the maintenance required.
Vertical Grain
Vulcan Cladding is engineered with a vertical grain pattern. Timbers with a vertical grain pattern are known to weather extremely well, with less movement and cracking. This means the timber looks better for longer and coatings last longer too.
Colour Palette
The colour palette chosen to finish the Vulcan Cladding also lends itself to low maintenance. All natural wood will eventually grey, and the contestants have pre-empted this process by choosing to finish the cladding in the grey shades of Resene Tiri. This means less home painting, less often.
Vulcan was also delivered to site pre-coated by Abodo, ensuring a consistent application of the Resene finish.
Smart choices and clever timber technology mean less maintenance and more time for the new home owners to enjoy these stylishly renovated Block houses.
Delivering the high level of quality expected from Vulcan timber, this extension to the Vulcan Cladding range will bring even more flexibility to your residential projects.
